If all sikhs recognized the divine light inside of them and their responsibility to the quom and the world, then indeed our community, the way we run things and the world would be very different. There's no doubt that we have the power to make a difference around us in each and every moment in each and every day, but I think in order to make larger changes, especially dealing with other powerful organizations, etc that number and organization (especially) does matter.

Groups of likeminded sikhs take on different efforts- some to protect our bana, some to preserve the respect of Guru Sahib, etc. Our responsibility is to become a part of these causes and further these movements, or bring these movements to areas where they do not exist.

Which is where my previous comment came from asking you if there were groups, etc who are aware of the museum problem. Also, I guess it was a way to find out the history of any efforts or the general attitude of the sangat.

The problems of one community are problems of the entire panth, but it is unrealistic for US sikhs to fix the problems of UK sikhs. Networking, exchanging resources and helping as team members with them leading the way, of course; and that is with any group, anywhere.

It is every sikh's duty to serve our panth and this world. Ultimately, Guru Ji is the one that does and makes us do.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!Rimmihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08582129610432054634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13878907.post-1140828937449853322006-02-25T00:55:00.000+00:002006-02-25T00:55:00.000+00:00Vaheguru Ji Ka KhalsaVaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Ji,Somet...Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa
Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Ji,

Something that I was talking about today funnily enough is that sometimes, especially as Sikhs - we believe that its down to certain groups or organisations to make a difference, however one Gursikh I was talking to said something that hit me:

"If we ALL did our bit, then we wouldnt need to see if anyone else was going to act"

This to me made so much sense. If we as Sikhs believe we are children of Guru Ji we have nothing at all to worry about, do ardaas and try fix things.

Agreed it might take time and effort, but any individual has the ability to make a difference.

Sorry if this seems like criticism towards you, its not meant to - its just a related point :)

All the best Sister Ji,
Confused 'Khalsa'

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa
Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!Confused Khalsahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14799212483027729887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13878907.post-1140747105646912832006-02-24T02:11:00.000+00:002006-02-24T02:11:00.000+00:00Waheguru!Incredible article. Are there sikh activism groups in the UK that can unite and remove the saroops from the museums and have them installed elsewhere with utmost respect as is desired and required?

On the other hand, it is really nice to see Sikhs taking responsibility, especially when they do it with such grace.

Great Blog, you really don't seem like such a "confused khalsa" or a "mistake singh"

Chardi Kala.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!Rimmihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08582129610432054634noreply@blogger.com
